VETCOMM’s “No Veteran Left Behind” Initiative Empowers Veterans with Other-Than-Honorable Discharges
Every veteran is a veteran to VETCOMM.
Founded by Marine Corps veteran and CEO Kate Monroe, VETCOMM continues to lead the charge in helping America’s heroes secure the benefits they’ve earned. The organization’s newest campaign, “No Veteran Left Behind,” is dedicated to supporting veterans with Other-Than-Honorable (OTH) discharges—helping them reclaim their dignity, tell their stories, and receive the benefits they deserve.
A New Chapter of Hope for Overlooked Veterans
For decades, thousands of U.S. service members have fallen through the cracks. Many who served their country were denied access to essential benefits because of administrative or disciplinary separations.
VETCOMM’s “No Veteran Left Behind” initiative aims to change that through specialized education, dedicated claim support, and personal advocacy for veterans who have struggled to be recognized.
“The character of your discharge should never erase the character of your service,” said Kate Monroe, CEO of VETCOMM US. “Too many veterans were written off because of trauma, misunderstanding, or the invisible wounds of war. We are changing that.”
Monroe emphasized that VETCOMM’s mission is rooted in redemption and renewal—believing that every person who has worn the uniform deserves the chance to rebuild, be seen, and move forward with dignity.
A Growing Community of Veterans Finding Redemption
According to recent estimates, more than 500,000 veterans in the United States have OTH discharges, including over 100,000 who served since the 9/11 era.
One of those veterans, Ben Frandsen, CEO of The Ben Free Project, shared how VetComm helped transform his life.
After struggling for years with the stigma and barriers of an OTH discharge, Frandsen connected with VETCOMM and was awarded a 70% VA rating.
“Thanks to Kate Monroe, who has a heart for service members that have been set aside by traumas leading to behaviors the military now recognizes may stem from PTSD, people like me can finally get help we can afford,” said Frandsen. “I recommend all OTH veterans use VETCOMM. They understand, they care, and they fight for you.”
Frandsen’s story reflects the heart of VETCOMM’s mission—seeing beyond paperwork and past mistakes to the person and the purpose that remain. The organization believes that courage and contribution do not end when service does; they can begin anew through understanding and support.
How the “No Veteran Left Behind” Initiative Works
The initiative will connect OTH veterans with dedicated case teams who understand the complexities of discharge status, service-related trauma and how to pursue rightful compensation. VETCOMM will also work alongside legal and policy partners to advocate for broader reform and recognition for this often-overlooked group.
At its core, VETCOMM’s work is about more than benefits—it’s about restoring hope and rebuilding trust. The organization believes that courage and contribution don’t end when service does.
Through the “No Veteran Left Behind” initiative, VETCOMM is proving that every story matters, and that no veteran’s journey ends with their discharge status.
The campaign reaffirms VETCOMM’s ongoing mission to ensure that every veteran’s voice is heard and that no one who wore the uniform is left behind.
